Jesus Christ: Herald of the Kingdom

Two thousand years ago, God sent Jesus into this world as the Herald of His Kingdom. Thus Jesus told the people to pray like this: “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, it will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Here Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is the Kingdom of the Father who is to come upon the earth. That the Name of the Father, and not the name of the Son, is that which is Hallowed. Thus the Father Himself is to appear, seated upon David's throne (Is. 9:6,7) and bring the Kingdom of the Father, the Kingdom of God to the earth as it was in the heaven of prophecy.

The Kingdom of God is a real Kingdom with laws, subjects and a King, It is the government of God ruling from the throne of King David which is the Executive branch of the Universal House of Justice of Baha'u'llah. This reality is foreseen by the great Hebrew prophet Isaiah in the 9th chapter of his extensive visions for the future of all mankind.

FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and for evermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7 RSV)

When we look closely at this prophecy we see that Jesus fulfills none of the verses of the prophecy except the first one, which states “ For unto us a child is born and a son is given” - for it is true that Jesus was born a male-child, but so were the rest of half of the human race as well. Other than this one point, Jesus fulfills none of the rest of this all important prophecy.

THE GOVERNMENT UPON HIS SHOULDER

The prophecy states that the “government will be upon his shoulder”. Jesus was the son of a carpenter and had carpentry upon his shoulder (Mk. 6:3 KJV). He said nothing about government at all other than “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.” (Matt. 22:21 KJV) Baha'u'llah on the other hand was heir to the throne of Mazindaran, one of the greatest province of the Persian Empire as well as the throne of King David. Also heir of his father and father's father of the Grand Viziers of the Persian Empire, He was born into the royal aristocracy and was heir to the hereditary seat of governmental power, and thus had the “government upon his shoulder”. Baha'u'llah gave all this up to become a follower of the Bab. Yet Baha'u'llah wrote over 10,000 books, epistles, and prayers commenting upon how the government of God should be set up upon the earth, along with the Divine Economy, and revealed the World Order of Baha'u'llah which is none other than the Kingdom of God, the Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Baha being its CHARTER (World Order of Baha'u'llah, p. 144).

PRINCE OF PEACE, EVERLASTING FATHER

“His name shall be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, prince of peace.” Jesus did not fulfill any of this. Instead, as the Herald of the Kingdom, Jesus prophesied the “wonderful counselor” (John 15:7-15) who was to come after him as someone other than himself. Jesus was called the Son and NOT the Father. Jesus said the “Father is Greater than I” (John 14:28 KJV). Baha'u'llah's name means “father” for He is the “glory of the father” (Mark 8:38), which in the original Aramaic that Jesus spoke is Baha'u'llah. 'Baha' is glory 'u' is of and 'Allah' means God, Lord or Father. Jesus emphatically denied being the Father and Jesus emphatically denied being the “prince of peace”. When the Jews came to him they were anxious to know if he was the Prince of Peace that they were waiting for prophesied here in Isaiah chapter 9. Jesus told them that he was not the Prince of Peace at all, but that he had come to bring a sword!

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I CAME NOT TO SEND PEACE, BUT A SWORD. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.” (Matthew 10:34-38 KJV)

In fact Jesus commanded his disciples to sell their coats and buy swords of which they all bought two swords each (Luke 22:36, 38 KJV) a long sword for fighting and short scabbard for blocking and fighting up close. He then ordered them to take the temple by force in a military coup (John 2:15 RSV), in which he led the revolt with a whip. They took the temple by force and held it for about a week. They were armed to the teeth. This is why Peter had a sword (John 18:10 KJV) with which he cut the ear of the high priest's slave.

Clearly Jesus was NOT the prince of peace and he never claimed to be! Thank goodness that Jesus never claimed to be the prince of peace for had he done so he would be the biggest failure in all history for we have had nothing but war since his coming and most of the worst wars are fought amongst the different people claiming to be “Christian” themselves! Baha'u'llah on the other hand, on the moment of the day of His proclamation on April 21, 1863 abolished the sword. He was the first and only Manifestation of God in the entire 6000 years cycle of Adam to do this. He is the Prince of Peace and revealed the Blueprint of the Baha'i Peace Program for peace on earth through justice for all mankind as the one and single family of the human race. This includes social economic and well as administrative justice and peace, domestic and international for all the people of the world. His revelation may be summed up in 12 principles which when adhered to bear the fruits of peace on earth for Divine Civilization, the root of these fruits being the tree of the Covenant Itself. Baha'u'llah is further prophesied by His prophesied Name, His prophesied date, His prophesied Address, as well as His prophesied Mission to bring the everlasting peace of this Kingdom.

UPON THE THRONE OF KING DAVID

Isaiah further prophesied that the Prince of peace will be “seated upon the throne of King David” and over “his Kingdom to establish it”. Jesus was not seated upon the throne of David at all as he was descended from King David through David's son Nathan the prophet (Luke 3:31). Thus Jesus was a prophet like Nathan, as he prophesied the coming of the Kingdom on earth as the Herald of the Kingdom. Jesus was not seated upon David's throne at all, but did what he did through the “authority” of the throne of David he was given which was through the authority which Jesus said was given to him directly by the Father seated upon David's throne that sent him. Furthermore none of Jesus ancestors were seated upon the throne of David, other than David himself – but Baha'u'llah and all of Baha'u'llah's ancestors were seated upon the throne of King David, as upheld by the Bible and history together. Baha'u'llah's father sat upon the throne of King David, his grandfather sat upon the throne of King David, his great-grandfather sat upon the throne of King David all the way back to King David himself.

“The Ancient Beauty – Baha'u'llah – is seated upon the throne of David. Thus hath My Pen spoken that which the histories of bygone ages have related.” (Proclamation of Baha'u'llah, p. 89)

“Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end”. Jesus didn't bring a government at all and as for his kingdom Jesus said, “my kingdom is NOT of this world” (John 18:36 KJV); and when they tried to take him by force to make him king he ran away and hid in the mountains (John 6:15 KJV). Baha'u'llah's Kingdom, the Father's Kingdom seated upon the throne of David is of this world “on earth as it is in heaven”. Since the coming of Baha'u'llah His government has been imitated three times in the World Court, the League of Nations and the United Nations, the Czar of Russia, Woodrow Wilson and FDR all having been deeply exposed to the Baha'i revelation. Each attempt however failed to proclaim Baha'u'llah to the people and failed to have the living Davidic King chair the meetings and thus WWI, WWII and now WWIII are resultant. The fourth imitation of Baha'u'llah's government of the Peace Plan is the headless so-called “UHJ” of the “Hands” on Mt. Carmel. It is not located at the “top of the Mountain” (Is. 2:2 KJV) as prophesied; instead it is located on the side on Golem Avenue. The Golem is a man-made monster from Jewish legend and the evil image of jealousy utilized in the works of Tolkien. It has no Davidic King as it head, it is in violation of the everlasting Covenant of God.

HIGH PRIEST AFTER THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEC

Jesus was not only a descendant of King David – a Christ – but also something more authoritative, as the Lamb, Jesus was a high priest “great teacher” after the order of Melchizedec (see Hebrews ch. 5, 6, & 7). This priesthood gives Jesus the authority above the people and above the Davidic Kings, and even above the Aaronic Priests who were the “Lords” over David, even as the Father (Baha'u'llah) is above the Son. Thus Jesus as a high priest “great teacher” after the order of Melchizedec is the mediator, once and for all time, of the everlasting Covenant between God and man (1 Tim 2:5 RSV). The Melchizedec priesthood is spoken of in Psalms 110 as exalted above the Davidic Kingship and above the Aaronic Priesthood for David has written:

The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool." … The LORD has sworn and will not change his mind, "You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek." (Psalm 110:1, 4 RSV)

Thus David explains that YHVH, the Lord God, has made the high priest after the order of Melchizedec, lord over the Davidic Kingship, to sit at the right hand of the throne of King David, but not seated upon that throne, as both Herald and establisher of the Kingdom. Thus Jesus emphasized to the Jewish leadership of his day by quoting to them Psalms 110 (Luke 20:42), that though the sons of David were below the Aaronic Priests, yet was he above both the Davidic kingship and the Priests of Aaron in his AUTHORITY and capacity as the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, as the mediator of the Covenant between God and man (1 Tim. 5:2)

DIED FOR SINS

This high priesthood of Jesus is symbolized by Jesus being the sacrificial Lamb. At the time of Moses the people thought that animals were gods. Moses went up on the mountain for forty days and forty nights to get the Ten Commandments, when he came back down the people had melted down all their gold jewelry to form an image of the golden calf that they were praying to. Moses' bother Aaron helped them to do this. Moses smashed the two tablets of the law and went back up on the mountain. When he returned he instituted the “Continual Burnt offering”.

In the continual burnt offering, Moses explained to the people that they were to take the best of the flock, the best of the animals, and chop it up into chunks and then burn these chunks on the alter of the fire in the temple court. The people were afraid that these would anger their gods as killing the best of them – but Moses explained to them, that the smoke of the burning of the animal sacrifice would rise up into heaven and perfume the nostrils of the One True Invisible God. After performing this day in and day out for thousands of years the people learned that in fact animals were not gods.

When Jesus appeared to the people, they were still under the misconception that other people were gods. Thus they had statues to Isis, Horace, Osiris, Zeus, Jupiter, Apollo, Athena, Aphrodite, etc. In order to teach the people that other people were NOT gods, God choose the best of the flock – the Manifestation of God – Jesus to die once and for all time as the sacrificial Lamb, to prove that man was not God – and that not even the Manifestation of God is God. This is why Jesus died on the cross to remove this idea from the minds of the people. After his coming this was twisted around by the people who replaced the true Biblical, historical and authentic Jesus (1 Cor. 11:4) the Herald of the Kingdom with the incarnate God-lie that continued on down from ancient Babylon and other nations that worship men and women as gods, instead of the One True Invisible God that created the Universe and everything in it.

HERALD AND ESTABLISHER OF THE KINGDOM

Paul explains that this same Jesus, the Lamb seen in Revelation, that High Priest, shall return a second time not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him (Hebrews 9:28) by establishing his Father's (Baha'u'llah's) Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. This is 1 Corinthians chapter 15:

“Then comes the end, when he [Jesus, the Son] delivers the kingdom to God the Father [Baha'u'llah] after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death [spiritual death]. "For God has put all things in subjection under his feet." But when it says, "All things are put in subjection under him," it is plain that he is excepted who put all things under him.  When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself [Jesus] will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be all and in all to every one.” (1 Cor. 15:24-28 RSV)

With the Close of the Age (Matt. 24:3 RSV) in 2001 AD, and the prophesied return of Jesus the Lamb, the Kingdom of God is established upon the earth as it is in heaven in the form of the Universal House of Justice with the living Davidic King (the Christ of the Baha'i world order) as its president and irremovable member for life.

Thus the Father (Baha'u'llah) and the Son (Jesus) have appeared and the prophecies of God of the two Christs – Father and Son, redeeming and suffering – are fulfilled (see Zech 4:14 and Hal Lindsey, Late Great Planet Earth “Two portraits” for more). The Kingdom of God (Davidic) is established in the world as an ark of salvation for all who enter therein.

God is that ancient unknowable infinite invisible essence that is the creator of the Universe and everything in it. The Bible tells us that God is invisible, God is Spirit and that no one at any time has ever seen God (Col. 1:15; John 4:24; John 1:18). Jesus is NOT God but has made Him known to the world as the herald of this Kingdom. The Son is not the King of this Kingdom, but the Father (Baha'u'llah) and His successors to the throne of David is the King of this Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, presidents of the House of the Lord, the UHJ, for the rest of the life of this planet, which could be for billions of years yet. With the rest of the members, these presidents have a vote of one and no veto power. The full authority rests with the decisions of the full body, the decisions of the House which are freed from all error and thus are justice itself. Upon this Most Great Justice is founded and established the everlasting Peace, not only between all the people and all the nations of the world, but Oh so much, much more important, that everlasting peace between God and man.

EPISTLES TO THE CHRISTIAN PEOPLES

We include here two of Baha'u'llah's important Epistles: The General Epistle to the Christian People (Lawh-i-Aqdas); and the Epistle to the Pope (Lawh-i-Pap) – the first is written to the Christian people as a whole via a believer and the second addressed to the Christian peoples through Pope Pius IX.

Only those who use their intellect to understand the Mystery of the Kingdom will be saved from the Mystery of Iniquity which “doth already work in the churches”.

Jesus came to save as it is written:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one gets to the Father [Baha'u'llah] except through me.” (John 14:6).

This refers to Jesus on his second coming.
